Developmental Neuro-Epigenetics

Epigenetic mechanisms contribute to a wide range of neurobiological and cognitive processes, including learning and memory, neuronal activity, as well as neurogenesis and brain development. At present, there are a number of ongoing projects within our group which aim to track DNA methylation trajectories across brain development, with the overarching objective of providing an informative resource for the wider research community. Using genomic DNA derived from post-mortem brain tissue, we intend to assess methylome-wide changes in DNA methylation across the life-span in both human and rodent models.
